Geographical introduction

The area of Godagari upazila is 475.28 sq km. It is located between 240 21 to 240 36 north latitude and 60 18 to 60 33 east longitude. Tanore upazila is situated to the north of Godagari, Paba upazila to the east, Lalgola and Bhagwan Gola thanas of Murshidabad district of India to the south and Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila to the west. The topography of Godagari is varied. The land structure of this region is made up of uneven shields of the Barind lands formed by the uneven Pesnstosin era. Although the topography of the northern part of this upazila is composed of uneven red soil, the slap area of the south-western of Padma is almost flat. It is called the Gangetic Pasnaban Plain land. After independence, as a result of river erosion in the western part of Chapainawabganj, many endangered people came to settle in the area and take ownership of the land, so the villages inhabited by ethnographic people are no longer in the former position. Strange events and evolution have also taken place in this town. As a result, the economic and cultural identity of the minority anthropological population has become extinct due to the influence of the majority. The distance from Rajshahi district town to Godagari upazila by road is 30 km.
