Background of the upazila
Godagari is a Padma river submerged upazila. The Pramatta Padma River divides Godagari into two parts, east and west. One union in the west and six unions and two municipalities in the east. The western part is protected by flood control dams. The eastern highlands and the Barind lands are developed areas. Due to its high altitude as the Barind area, the communication system here is very well developed. Although Godagari is not a modern city, civic amenities and quality of life are better than ever before. Electricity, telephone-mobile, hospital, education etc. have improved the socio-economic condition of the area and there is no chance to go back from this condition. An attempt has been made in this webportal to give a picture of what we have in this upazila. The existing infrastructure, institutions and sector-wise information of various government departments of Godagari Upazila have been included in this webportal. The activities of various non-governmental organizations working in this upazila are also included.
